ACOUSTIC ENCLOSURES

Generators can be noisy, large and potentially dangerous if not correctly protected. Particular consideration is needed when deciding where they are sited and how they are guarded.

The simplest form of protection if noise is not an issue is a weather proof canopy.

These are normally supplied as close fit developed to provide a robust body giving excellent access, security and safety. Access doors each side hinged vertically incorporate the necessary strengthening to accept the door furniture consisting of heavy duty weld hinges with grease nipples, recessed chrome plated heavy duty-L handle and internal slam lock. The exhaust system mounted on the roof is an absorptive type.

Where noise is an issue we offer an acoustic canopy designed to meet the criteria specified. The body is manufactured from high quality Zintec sheet steel with panels having a double return to give rigidity. The doors are constructed with a solid external face, in filled with acoustic quality high-density non-hydroscopic mineral wool, and an internal face of perforated pre galvanised sheet.

Attenuation with the correct attenuated air passages obtained the required noise reduction by a combination of impedance, reflection and absorption. Access doors each side allow good access for maintenance. The exhaust is a double chamber design, providing for initial low restriction expansion, followed by adequate attenuation of the higher frequency exhaust noise.

All canopies are wiped down to remove oil or grease.

A coat of zinc phosphate primer is applied to give good anti-corrosive properties. 2 coats of synthetic enamel are then applied as a finish coat. The finish coat provides both superb gloss and excellent durability. It has good resistance to diesel, oil and petrol.
